Currently, I add a few peer conferences a month. For example, as I write this the May 2024 listing includes events in Vienna, Austria; Raleigh, North Carolina; and two in Nepal. This calendar provides strong evidence that any group with something in common who wants to connect and learn can benefit from peer conference designs.

Six reasons why unconferences aren’t more popular

The tendency is to assume that because you’re rejecting the rigid format of traditional conferences, you can get away with less structure. For example, figuring out what attendees actually want and need to talk about doesn’t happen at the drop of a hat. In reality, unconferences require a fair amount of structure.
