I was recently referred to a hotel in Barcelona as a “meeting design expert” I popped along and had a look at a good (if rather too traditional) meetig space. I met with a couple of their senior team and tried to get handle on their interest in meeting design. How venues can support meeting design.

Where possible I do my best to recommend a venue, and explain why I like it, but unfortunately even in our busy cities the number of ‘understanding’ venues are too few. Those three are Event Tech Live in London , EUBEA World Festival , which this year took place in Coimbra in Portugal and IBTM World in Barcelona. IBTM session was all about Meeting Design and the venue is about 5 miles from my office, so attending that one was much easier! Details of my session at IBTM World.

The venue is usually revealed shortly before the event starts to heighten the expectations. The venue always matches the film setting to create a unique atmosphere. Those who sign up, receive only vague advance cues about the film, dress code, and a meeting point. Secret events Secrets have always attracted people.
