I was recently referred to a hotel in Barcelona as a “meeting design expert” I popped along and had a look at a good (if rather too traditional) meetig space. I met with a couple of their senior team and tried to get handle on their interest in meeting design. How venues can support meeting design.

Too many venues, especially hotels, are still designed and to house traditional conferences. If you want to run a creative conference, one that uses Meeting Design you have to find a venue that will really support your conference. My third example is from Barcelona. Demonstration against new hotels in Barcelona. Barcelona is undergoing a tourist explosion and hotels of course, have to go somewhere. And that demonstration in Poblenou in Barcelona will make an impact way beyond the barrio of Poblenou. It’s as simple as that.

I attended a workshop in Barcelona last week. Digital Sapiens workshop in Barcelona. Workshops are a very popular format for getting people stuck into a topic. But not all workshops are created equally. It was a very good event. These types of events can be tricky. We were set an investment challenge and a business challenge.

Those three are Event Tech Live in London , EUBEA World Festival , which this year took place in Coimbra in Portugal and IBTM World in Barcelona. IBTM session was all about Meeting Design and the venue is about 5 miles from my office, so attending that one was much easier!
