The New Year is upon us and as we look at 2022 for our meetings and group gatherings, we gaze into the future with bright eyes and positive grins and think, what the heck is going on? To forecast the landscape for in-person events in 2021 is to indulge in paradox, perfectly encapsulated in the events of the last several days. What I do: I manage the department responsible for the production of our three large annual meetings, ranging from 200 to 2,000 attendees, as well as about six to eight smaller meetings. I manage everything from budgets to site selections to online registration to attendee communications.
