The Night Time Economy Summit is back. Across the 8th and 9th of February, event industry professionals will descend on Manchester’s Freight Island for two days of talks, workshops and networking.

2024’s edition promises to be the most adventurous yet. The event will host four stages across the two days, with over 200 speakers, workshop areas and stands where you can meet with affiliated companies.

Our team will be there, too. If you’ve been thinking about our services or just want to find out more, the Night Time Economy Summit is the place to be.

You’ll get the chance to learn, connect and share ideas, something crucial for the overall health of our industry. Ahead of the event, we’ve put together five reasons to attend this year’s Night Time Economy Summit.

You’ll be able to learn from the industry’s brightest minds

If there is one thing the Night Time Economy Summit is synonymous with, it’s bringing the industry’s brightest minds under one roof.

Over the two days, you’ll be able to hear a variety of talks, make new connections and network with like-minded people. They’ll be passing on tips, sharing knowledge and giving insights. It could be the spark of inspiration you need.

Appearing at the event are Fabric co-founder Keith Riley, Defected A&R Manager Griff Harding, CEO of the PRS Foundation Joe Frankland, The Loop’s Professor Fiona Mesham and many more.

There are some relevant discussions for event promoters

We like to think of the Night Time Economy Summit as a broadchurch for the industry. People from different parts of the events world come together with the same goal in mind: helping the industry develop and evolve.

If you’re a promoter? Well, you’re in for a treat. On Day One, hear about innovations in the Night Time Economy at a talk titled ‘Unlocking Opportunities After Dark: Global Challenges and Innovative Solutions in the Night Time Economy’.

Elsewhere, Stage Three will be hosting ‘Exploring The Evolution of Club Culture’, where you can hear from Christina Vale Pires, manager of drug harm reduction initiative Kosmicare and others. Other talks include harm reduction, radio, inclusivity for queer events and the launch of the NTIA’s Electronic Music Report.

But it’s not just about events…

Our industry certainly doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Lots of the challenges that plague society — mental health, gender bias and sexism — are problems people in the industry face, too.

The Night Time Economy Summit is sensitive to these issues, meaning you’ll be able to see panels that cover them with the time and nuance they deserve. Day One sees a workshop titled ‘Navigating Participation in Electronic Dance Music for Women over 40’, while ‘What’s On Your Mind? A Discussion Around Mental Health In The Music Industry will take place at 4:30 on Stage Four.

On Day Two, Stage Four will host ‘The Show Can’t Go On! Suicide Prevention’, which will see our very own Duncan King discuss a serious issue alongside Lapsley, Howie Martinez, Laurie Olivia, Joe Hastings and moderator Atheer Al Salim.

There are pre-events…

You won’t have to wait til the afternoon for things to kick off. Opening the Night Time Economy Summit is the SheSaid. So Welcome Brunch, which will feature SheSaid. So’s Nina Kehagia, Andy Burnham and Sacha Lord.

Here, you’ll be able to start the day right, hearing a series of talks and getting time to network with fellow attendees.

And post events…

Networking will undoubtedly take place across the two days, with guests swapping contact details and sharing ideas. However, you’ll be able to take that further once the event finishes.

Once the talks are over and the panellists have finished for the day, it’s over to Joshua Brooks on Thursday 8th February for the NTIA Summit Mixer. It’s hosted by DJ Monitor and a special guest, running from 7 pm to 1 am.

The Night Time Economy Summit is set to be a crucial event in the calendar. Grab your tickets from Skiddle by clicking the link below.
