In the heart of East London, where the vibrant energy of the creative industries meets the love for football, Gun FC has become a beacon of success and community. Established in 2014 by a group of graphic designers who frequented The Gun pub on Well Street in Homerton, Hackney, the club’s mission was to revive the age-old British tradition of pubs nurturing grassroots football teams—a tradition on the verge of extinction in 2023.

The Gun pub, famed for its culinary delights and late-night revelries, has evolved into an East London hotspot. A gathering place for Hackney’s residents, especially those immersed in the creative industries, The Gun embodies the essence of the local community and serves as Gun FC’s identity.

In the club’s early years, the team sported the aesthetic of a Puma sponsorship but faced challenges on the field, competing in the now-defunct London Musical Associations league. A change in leadership was what was needed and marked a turning point for the club. Under the guidance of Alan Bond, the team transitioned to the Hackney & Leyton League, ushering in an era of unprecedented success.

Since 2017, Gun FC have become an unstoppable force securing all but two league titles. The club’s achievements also extend far beyond the league, with multiple domestic cups featured in their trophy cabinet. The club’s pinnacle however came in 2018 when Gun FC clinched the BT Sport National Pub Cup, a prestigious Sunday League tournament broadcast live from Leicester City’s King Power Stadium. The Gun emerged victorious in a thrilling final against Liverpool’s Liver Faults, etching their name in footballing history.

Today, Gun FC proudly calls the Camden Sunday league home, boasting two thriving teams that grace the iconic Hackney Marshes. Post-game rituals still unfold at The Gun pub, reaffirming the club’s commitment to its roots and creative values. The longevity of Gun FC’s partnership with Puma, reaching its impressive 10-year milestone next season, is a testament to the enduring collaboration between fashion and football.

Beyond the pitch, the club is deeply entrenched in the local community, fostering a meaningful partnership with Hackney Quest—a local charity dedicated to supporting young people, families, and community members in their pursuit of aspirations. This commitment to community values has made Gun FC more than just a football club; it’s a catalyst for positive change.

As Gun FC embarks on its next chapter, we’re proud to join the team’s growing family of supporters. Our sponsorship signifies more than just financial backing—it’s a commitment to the grassroots, a pledge to uphold the spirit of community football, and a shared vision for a future where football remains a vibrant and accessible part of local culture.

By joining forces with Gun FC, we aim to not only elevate the footballing experience for players and fans alike but also to contribute to the well-being of local communities both within and beyond the realm of football. Together, we are poised to kick off a new era, one that celebrates the fusion of creativity, camaraderie, and the enduring love for football.

Watch this space to learn how we’ll be supporting other sports initiatives in the not-so-distant future.
