Skiddle Update: NTIA partnership, World Cup events, A/B testing of PayPal & more

This week’s edition of the Skiddle update covers The 2022 World Cup, the A/B testing of PayPal across the Skiddle website and the new entries to our Promotion Centre blog. This weeks update was a day early due to the announcement of our exciting new partnership with the Night Time Industries Association, the National Promoter Society.

The World Cup

Autumn has been eventful. Freshers Week and Oktoberfest have seen many events organised, while Halloween isn’t far off. But, as autumn moves to winter, there’s another event on the horizon: The 2022 Qatar World Cup. 

Here at Skiddle, we’ve already seen promoters up and down the country begin to lock in their World Cup events. England and Wales are the only two teams from the UK to have qualified for the tournament. As they’ve both been drawn in the same group, fixtures against the USA and Iran await them, and they’ll play each other on the 29th of November. With some events on the Skiddle website already sold out, it’s a perfect time to start listing your events. 

The winter timeframe of this year’s World Cup comes as an outlier. This means it could be a chance to attract customers with some unique event ideas.

In other news

A/B Testing of PayPal across the Skiddle website has begun this week. Approximately 10,000 customers will be given the option to use PayPal as a payment method at web checkout. Full rollout expected in the coming weeks. 

PayPal is one of the safest digital wallet services on the market. The company offers a range of ways to make transactions, and on Skiddle, customers will be able to choose from PayNow and PayLater. The latter will allow the customer to pay in three equal instalments. Make sure to read Skiddle’s update for more information regarding PayPal in the coming weeks.
