The 2023 edition of Production Futures’ Breakthrough Talent Awards is set to take place on the 28th of September.

The event will take place at Wakefield’s Production Park, kicking off at 4pm.

Production Futures work with young people across a range of disciplines in the event industry. The organisation aims to make training, networking and development accessible, a crucial part of giving the next generation of talent in events, TV, media and more a place to begin their career.

Speaking about the awards, Production Futures’ Chief Executive Hannah Eakins said: “The Production Futures initiative originated as The Breakthrough Talent Awards and they have been a fundamental part of our mission from day one.

This expanded format takes us back to the roots of Production Futures and the reasons why we wanted to recognise young talent. We began as a very small awards ceremony in 2016 that sought not only to mark the achievements of young people in the production industries, but to inspire the next generation coming through.”

Nominees must be a newcomer with less than three years of experience in the industry. They can be an entrepreneur, pupil, student, graduate, an employee, an apprentice or a freelancer. There isn’t an age limit for nominations.

Nominations opened in June, and category sponsors set tasks in August. The top 6 nominees will be announced on the 18th of September, with the winners announced when the event takes place.

2023’s edition of the awards will include more award categories, with each successful nominee benefitting from direct contact with the sponsor of their award.
