Here it is! Our weekly rundown of all the exciting things happening behind the scenes at Skiddle HQ, with a few extra bits and pieces – from insightful blog posts to news of unique events – added in for good measure.

In this week’s update, we’ll be shedding light on the Custom Stats Promotion Centre feature, sharing advice from seasoned promoters on how to launch an event in Ibiza, and recapping where you can find us at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.

Analysis: Festival Ticket Sales 2023

The 2023 UK festival season has commenced, just as the weather finally begins to show some promising signs of improvement, and already we’re observing ticketing trends via a recent analysis of our sales data.

Similar to that which was recorded during the festival season in 2022, a significant number of festivals listed with Skiddle, that are either imminent or have already taken place, have been taking between 25% and 40% of their total sales in the final 10-day lead-up to the event. And our analysis also shows that this is a trend that is set to continue throughout the coming summer months.

To entice your customers into making earlier purchases, you might want to consider setting up a payment plan to help spread the cost of a ticket. We also now offer customers the choice to spread the cost of a ticket using PayPal’s Pay-In-3 option, available on all web browsers.

With regard to refunds, there’s also our ‘Cool: Off’ feature which, when enabled, allows customers to get a face-value refund on their ticket, no questions asked, within a time frame set by you (Between 72 hours and 28 days).

We know you’ll be constantly analysing your marketing and social performance but it’s worth taking note of these insights and adjusting your budgets and efforts accordingly, to ensure you’re not overspending and to help you achieve your sales goals.

Blog: How to launch a club night in Ibiza

Have you ever thought about launching a club night in Ibiza?

The island can be a tough nut to crack and there’s a lack of good advice from reputable sources out there to help ambitious promoters get set up. So, we’ve sought to correct that.

Up on the Promotion Centre Blog is our latest piece, ‘How to launch a club night in Ibiza: Advice from some of the biggest event brands on the island’.

Making up part of our Destination Ibiza campaign, the article has been produced to deliver you invaluable knowledge straight from those who’ve found success on the shores of the world-renowned dance music destination.

We recently spoke to Nick Ferguson and Gavin Stockman. Nick is the founder and owner of The Supernova Group, a promotion and partner brand that works with some of the biggest names on the island. Gavin is the founder and owner of Musicana Ibiza, a live music bottomless brunch brand which has taken the island by storm and continues to go from strength to strength.

Promotion Centre: Custom Stats feature

Have you got a festival listed with Skiddle offering numerous ticket tiers or options?

Our Custom Stats feature, accessed via the Promotion Centre dashboard, allows you to view real-time sales data for each of the different types of tickets you have on sale, collated together on one neat and reader-friendly graph.

We understand that for large-scale events it’s necessary to provide customers with as much choice as possible when it comes to ticket options, to ensure you reach your sales targets. And with this tool and the insight it offers, that goal is made much easier.

So what is the benefit of having such data?

Up-to-the-minute data enables you to make decisions quickly, to help drive those all-important sales on ticket tiers or options which might not be performing as well as some of your others, such as a VIP ticket, for example. The graph data for your custom ticket type would highlight any negative trends and allow you to tailor your marketing efforts more effectively to help increase awareness of the ticket tier or option, ultimately boosting sales.

The Custom Stats feature also enables you to obtain simple attendance totals before and during the event. There are two benefits here. One, you can see exactly how many people are set to visit your event and make staffing plans accordingly. Two, you can look at how many people actually attended your event once the dust has settled and use that data to improve any future events.
