Event visibility is crucial over New Year’s Eve.

You need as many people as possible to see your event so you can achieve a high amount of ticket sales. Ideally, you’ll have a marketing strategy across your social media platform of choice and even some paid ads to help promote your event.

Without a range of techniques, you’ll struggle to achieve event visibility. This could lead to poor ticket sales and a less than satisfactory outcome in the sales cycle.

If you’re looking for some free-to-use event visibility strategies, you’ve come to the right place. Our article will show you the tools that we offer, helping you get your event out there to as many people as possible.

Get your events seen through our content

Skiddle’s content writers are always hard at work promoting events and writing seasonal, informative content for our audience.

For this New Year’s period, they’ll be creating pages that will show customers all the best events in the major areas of the UK. Customers will be able to do a Google search of the events in their area, find our pages and browse away.

They’ll also be creating ‘Inspire Me’ pages, which show events from all regions on one page. These pages are built with SEO in mind, which ensures that they rank high on search engines, so event attendees have the best chance of finding them.

Data from these pages shows that clicks begin to increase on Boxing Day, with a total of 7,302 clicks. From there, the figure continues to grow, with clicks reaching 18,918 on New Year’s Eve and 25,510 on New Year’s Eve.

It shows that people are using these pages. Get in contact with Account Support or your dedicated Account Manager to get your event on our pages.

Nail your short and long descriptions

If you’ve used The Promotion Centre in the past, you’ll be familiar with short and long descriptions.

But did you know that if your short description is between 100 and 150 words, it makes you eligible for our Facebook Retargeting service?

This will show your event listing to people who have already viewed it. It’s a helpful feature. People may have been browsing for events throughout the festive period without making a decision, so you don’t want them to forget about your event.

Keep your long description in mind, too. If people are coming to your listing via Facebook Retargeting, they might click and have a look at it to get a feel for what your event is all about. So, ensure that your long description is detailed and gives potential attendees context. This extra information can increase event visibility, and might be the key to convincing people to buy for your event over others.

Utilise our regional newsletters to improve event visibility

We send newsletters to people across the country, giving your events a spotlight away from social media and the wider internet.

Here, your event gets shown to people in your area. Potential attendees don’t have to search anywhere; they can get a link in their inbox to buy tickets.

How our regional newsletters look

Don’t get us wrong, social media is a fantastic way to promote your events and you should be using it. But things can get lost in the shuffle. There is so much noise out there that other things can cut through and take precedence.

If you’d like to get your event in one of our regional newsletters, chat with your account manager or our account support team and they’ll be on hand to help you out.

Send alerts to Skiddle app users

The Promotion Centre allows you to create a Brand Page, perfect for if you run multiple events under one brand name.

Skiddle app users can then follow your brand and receive automated push notifications when you tag a new event to the brand.

Potential attendees will get news of your latest event launch and be able to buy tickets straight away.

We also offer Artist Alerts. These are a little bit different, as they are sent based on a Skiddle User’s tracking preferences.

So, a customer may set up their preferences to let them know about any forthcoming techno DJs playing in their area. They may get a push notification or an alert via browser or email.
