What is Amplify Your Music?

Amplify Your Music is a conference for up-and-coming independent artists and event industry professionals, set to take place at London’s South Bank next week.

Hosted by the teams at Farrago and Elixir, the industry event will run on Wednesday 16th August out of the unique and award-winning venue, 26 Leake Street.

You’ll be able to attend several masterclasses and panels, network with fellow attendees and finish off the event with a live music showcase.

In our article, get the lowdown on the panels and masterclasses you need to catch at the event and find out where you can grab tickets.

Skiddle’s ‘Putting On Your First Event’ with Siala Stathopoylos

Putting our event at the start is a bold move, we know. But stick with us. Siala’s been with us for three years, and before that, she worked with Joshua Brooks and in Croatia as a Production Manager. So, it’s safe to say she knows a thing or two about taking an idea and turning it into an event.

Do you want to organise an event but don’t know where to start? This masterclass is for you. Siala will talk you through booking a venue, selling tickets, budgeting and dealing with agents and artists.

‘The Art of Independence: Achieving Success As An Independent Musician’

This panel is for independent musicians. However, it could be helpful for promoters and people who organise events. No matter what scene you’re operating in, knowing how the other parts work is crucial, and as a promoter, you’ll likely be working alongside artists in this space. Having a better idea of an artist’s challenges will help you foster stronger relationships, which is always helpful in this industry.

And don’t forget there’s a networking session later in the evening. So, if you’ve got any tips on promotion or want to connect with an exciting new artist, you might find them attending this panel.

‘The New Normal: Unpacking the Transformative Changes in the Music Industry’

The industry has changed massively in recent years. Everyone, from artists to promoters, have had to adapt to new technology very quickly.

This panel will give you an insight into how to capitalise on the new technology that has sprung to life, as well as how to create new opportunities from them. Elsewhere, you’ll get to hear about the changing role of record labels in the industry.

All this could be invaluable to you as a promoter. If you’re a new adopter of technology, it can often put you at the forefront of a competitive industry.

‘The Gig Economy: Strategies for Succeeding in the Live Music Industry’

‘Strategies for Succeeding in the Live Music Industry’ will give musicians valuable tips on booking gigs, building a fanbase and maximising earning potential.

But like ‘The Art of Independence: Achieving Success as an Independent Musician’, it could be valuable for promoters. You might be able to connect with new artists or pass on some helpful information when it comes to gigs, club nights and festivals.

Networking opportunities

Once the panels and masterclasses have finished, you’ll be able to mingle with fellow attendees at Amplify Your Music.

Knowledge sharing and creativity are the beating heart of the events industry, so this is your chance to make new connections, discuss ideas and meet new artists.

Where can I grab tickets?
