Our Industry Drop-in event is back!

On Thursday 16th November, we’ll take over Glasgow’s Barras Art and Design (BAaD) for a day of 1-2-1’s, industry panels and networking.

We’re bringing some esteemed guests with us, too. We’ll go into more detail further down the article, but the likes of Fraz.ier, Mike Grieve and more will be in attendance.

The Glasgow event follows our last drop-in event in Birmingham, with both events focused on putting our motto of being ‘More Than A Ticket Shop’ into action. We’re passionate about events and the culture behind them, so we want to help promoters and industry staff learn from the best out there.

Sounds interesting, right? Keep scrolling to learn more about what to expect at our Industry Drop-in event in Glasgow.

Chat directly with our guests in 1-2-1 sessions

If you’re looking to chat about all things events, why not book a 1-2-1 meeting with one or more of our esteemed guests?

You’ll be able to speak with Ali Coban, the man behind brands like AC Live Promotions and the recently launched ACLP Worldwide Booking Agency.

Also appearing at the event is Daria Jaszcz, the Marketing and Communications Executive at the Scottish Music Industry Association, acclaimed DJ Frazi.er, PRTY Events’ Jezza and Colours’ Director of Events, Julie McEwan.

Interest in these 1-2-1 sessions has been high, meaning that the slots with the above names are all booked up. However, they’ll be in and around the venue, so feel free to grab a quick word with them on the day and keep your eyes peeled for any openings.

You can also book 1-2-1 sessions with Skiddle Account Manager Sinead Daines and Business Development Manager Matt Sadowski. Both Sinead and Matt have extensive knowledge of the industry in Scotland, and they’ll be able to pass on their expertise on event listings and the services Skiddle can offer.

Head here to book tickets for the day and here to book a slot for our 1-2-1 sessions.

Debate the hot topics of the Scottish music industry in our roundtable discussions

After a short lunch break, it’s on to our roundtable discussions.

Here, you’ll be able to debate topics that are crucial to the Scottish music scene.

We’ve got three discussions lined up, with each one running at the same time. So, when you’re buying tickets, please only book a ticket for one table.

The topics will include adapting to shifting consumer buying trends, navigating post-Brexit touring challenges and how promoters and venues can be catalysts for change in the industry.

Some of our esteemed 1-2-1 guests will appear in our roundtable discussions, giving their thoughts and opinions on the topics. You’ll be able to ask questions and voice your thoughts, too.

Later into the evening, we’ll welcome more guests for a series of panel discussions.

Here, Mike Grieve, Managing Director at SubClub, Tom Ketley, Founder of Fly Events, and Jenn Nimmo Smith, Director and Founder of Electric Shores Publicity, as well as Artist Manager & Music Management Consultant, Aaarti Joshi, and serving member of Scottish Parliament, Pauline McNeill MSP will discuss accessibility challenges in Glasgow and their subsequent impact on the city’s music economy.

Make connections at the Skiddle Social

It wouldn’t be a Skiddle event without a good old social gathering.

After the 1-2-1’s, panels and roundtables, you can chat with like-minded attendees and catch up with our guests in an informal and relaxed setting.

If you leave a roundtable or panel with a burning question, or you’ve been chatting to someone and felt inspired, this is the perfect time to continue the conversation and get the creative juices flowing.

See our services in action at our demo

Alongside our 1-2-1 sessions, panel discussions and roundtables will be a demo session.

Here, you’ll be able to get a feel for the tools that we offer, as well as getting to see them in action.

If you’ve been thinking about using our tools or wondering how they work, this is the place for you. Our staff will be on hand to answer your questions and provide information on how they can help your events get the ticket sales they deserve.
