Mark your calendar for Friday 18th August for our next industry event.

We’re taking over Birmingham’s Lab11 for our Industry Drop-in event. It’s free entry, and you’ll get to meet and chat with a selection of esteemed names from across the industry. It’s not long until we open the doors of Lab11 to greet you all, so we thought we’d take a deep dive into what you can expect on the day.

First up? You can book a chat with two experts: Michael Kill and Will Power.

Micheal has over 15 years of experience working in the events industry, with his career spanning operations, PR and marketing. He was the Chairperson of the U.K. Door Security Association, and his current role is the CEO of the Night Time Industries Association.

The NTIA is a trade body formed in 2015 which champions live music and event scenes in the U.K. Michael’s work as CEO sees him challenge government policy, lobby for reform and support businesses. You’ll be able to book a chat with him on August 18th. Here, you can discover how the NTIA supports the moving parts of the industry, gaining a deeper insight into the work that the organisation does.

Our next expert, Will Power, is the director of Birmingham’s Lab11. In his role, Will has built Lab11’s in-house brands, as well as overseeing the club’s success since 2014. That success is shown in the numbers, as Will has helped boost client revenue to over £9 million and picked up a Skiddle award for ‘Best Club’ in 2019.

He has a range of skills, including but not limited to: programming, creative direction and marketing direction, and he also has an unparalleled knowledge of the second city’s music scene. You’ll be able to chat with him about running a venue, promoting and more, so if you’re trying to do something similar in a city outside of the capital, Will’s advice will be vital.

Also appearing at our Industry Drop-in event will be our Senior Business Development Manager, Jack Barnett and Dan Brown, one of our Account Managers.

Jack has helped retain some of our most successful accounts and played a part in signing some of our biggest deals. He’s been with us since 2018, first as an Account Manager, so he’s well-versed in the ways Skiddle can help assist your event.

Looking to put on an event and not sure who to list with? Thinking of listing on a new platform? Jack can give you a first-hand insight into the industry and show you how Skiddle can assist you when organising and promoting events.

Dan is a Birmingham native, and alongside his work at Skiddle, he’s helped organise some of the city’s best LGBTQ+ club nights and helped to bring the likes of The Blessed Madonna, Years & Years and Dua Lipa to Birmingham as part of his work with Birmingham Pride.

If you’ve listed an event with Skiddle and are looking for tips, Dan can help you. He’s on call five days a week, managing a range of accounts and ensuring that they get the support they need.

Last but by no means least? Our final guest, Continental GT.

Like Dan, he’s a Birmingham native, and he built his name in the lockdown by hosting live streams that picked up steam with people looking for a dose of joy in a challenging period. His follower count grew, with celebrities like Lethal Bizzle, Maya Jama and more taking note, which ultimately led GT to start his own club night and sell-out venues across the nation.

Creative spirit is the beating heart of the industry. So, if you’re looking for inspiration, you’ll find it in a chat with Continental GT.

Each session will be 20 minutes long. Head here to grab your tickets and head here to book a slot with one of our guests. We’re looking forward to seeing you on the 18th of August for our free Industry Drop-in event.
