Jessica & Jared | Timeless Southern Elegance in Palmetto Bluff

Wow! How has it already been one year since this beautiful celebration in Palmetto Bluff? Join us as we reminisce about all of the special details from Jessica and Jared’s Lowcountry wedding weekend!

Jessica and Jared's romance blossomed during their college years, where Jessica was enrolled at SMU and Jared studied at TCU. Despite their schools’ fierce football rivalry, the two fell in love and became inseparable.

In the summer of 2021, Jared popped the question on Cape Cod surrounded by all of their closest friends and family! Shortly there after is where we came in - cue Team Brilliant!

We looked around the world for Jessica and Jared’s wedding venue, from London to California, before settling on the Montage Palmetto Bluff - the perfect half way point between Massachusetts and Texas.

Upon arriving in Bluffton, Jess and Jared welcomed their loved ones with welcome boxes filled with a personalized welcome note, local goodies, customized playing cards, and a bag of Cape Cod chips as an ode to their engagement.

Throughout the wedding planning process, Jessica referenced her parent’s wedding in Mexico City as a major source of inspiration. In particular, she would mention the red Mercedes that her parents drove off in on their wedding night. We helped her search high and low for the perfect “getaway car” but to no avail - or at least so she thought! Little did Jessica know, that behind closed doors, we had been working with her mother for months to surprise her with that exact car - the same one from her parent’s wedding many years ago!

Needless to say, when Jessica and Jared saw the red Mercedes round the corner instead of the trolley that they had anticipated, the two were speechless. It was a dream come true for Jessica! The perfect start to their wedding weekend.

The rest of the night was spent at Moreland Landing where guests enjoyed the couple’s fiesta-themed welcome party honoring the bride’s Mexican heritage. The celebration was complete with custom papel picado drink stirrers and cookie skillets to honor the infamous “iron skillet” football rivalry.

The next day, Jessica and Jared spent the morning with their respective bridal parties. Jess and her bridesmaids sipped on champagne while getting their hair and makeup done by Meg McMillion Beauty and Lashes and Lace CHS, while Jared and his groomsmen shotgunned beers for good luck before putting on their suits.

Before tying the knot in front of all of their friends and family, Jess and Jared wanted a moment to themselves. The two shared an intimate first look beneath lush, dripping greenery, exchanging personal vows meant only for each other's ears.

The couple’s ceremony took place at the Somerset Chapel - the same chapel that Justin and Hailey Bieber got married in several years ago. The picturesque setting was adorned by Katelyn Pinner Studio with luscious white florals. An asymmetric statement piece at the end of the aisle perfectly complemented the chapel's timeless aesthetic.

As guests arrived to the chapel, Jessica and Jared, gathered with their bridal parties. The bridesmaids looked stunning in their soft champagne-colored gowns, while the groomsmen sported a sleek and stylish look in their black suits and bow ties.

Their ceremony overflowed with joy and love - with guests joining from all around the world. Dean's Duets set a romantic tone, playing a lovely rendition of Justin Bieber's "Holy" as Jared walked down the aisle. Jessica followed, making her entrance to a classic arrangement of "Canon in D."

After a heartfelt ceremony the two finally left the chapel together as husband and wife to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to board trolleys to cocktail hour at the May River Lawn. Jess and Jared arrived shortly after in their family's vintage getaway car. Cocktail hour featured his and her signature cocktails, music by The Big Beyond, and a whiskey wagon for guests to enjoy.

After cocktail hour, guests proceeded to a stunning sailcloth tent on the Village Green. As they entered, they were greeted by a captivating escort card display that featured the playful message "take your shot and find your spot". Jessica and Jared had always wanted to incorporate the bride's favorite family toast into their wedding day, but they weren’t sure how to do so. Team Brilliant came up with the idea to include shot glasses with tequila as a nod to the bride's Mexican heritage. We sourced handmade talavera pottery glasses and collaborated with Hark Creative Co. to design paper lime escort cards and menus that included the words to the toast for each guest. Tinker and Blaze created the display, ensuring that this beloved family tradition had the beautiful moment it deserved, and tying everything together perfectly.

Inside, the tent had been transformed into an effortlessly elegant and luminous reception space. Tables were adorned with BBJ La Tavola linens and topped with luxurious floral arrangements by Katelyn Pinner Studio. A large green bar provided the perfect spot for guests to gather and enjoy a drink. The dance floor was enhanced by an extravagant overhead floral installation and a projection of the couple's monogram, echoing the design of their invitations. One of the couple's favorite details was the custom neon sign that read "The Russells". This sign now hangs in their new home, serving as a perfect keepsake to remember the weekend.

The newlyweds' first dance was fittingly to "Texas Sun" by Leon Bridges, a perfect choice for the college sweethearts who met in Texas. The dance ended with an epic cold sparkler display, kicking off their reception in spectacular fashion!

The couple and their guests spent the night sipping on cocktails, savoring the Montage’s delicious food, snapping photos with Palmetto Photo Booth, indulging in chocolate-covered sweets, and dancing the night away with The Big Beyond. It was a truly unforgettable night! But the celebration wasn’t over quite yet!

We always adore a memorable wedding exit, but Jessica and Jared's will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Drawing inspiration from their Mexican heritage, the mother of the bride secretly collaborated with Team Brilliant to transform the newlyweds' exit into an unparalleled mariachi dance party!

We honored the couples wish for a sparkler exit as planned, however at the end of their luminous farewell, a mariachi band awaited them, ready to serenade them into the night. Handmade maracas were passed out to all of the guests, and from there the dance party ensued!

The celebration only continued as the mariachi band led the couple and their guests to their disco speakeasy-themed after-party. The perfect end to the perfect weekend!

From start to finish, Jessica and Jared's Lowcountry wedding weekend at the Montage Palmetto Bluff was nothing short of unforgettable. It was a grand celebration for an even more extraordinary couple, and we feel honored to have been a part of it!

Happy Anniversary Jess and Jared! One year down, forever to go.

XOXO, Team Brilliant
