Turning on Q&A

Q&A is a really helpful feature that facilitates communication between your speaker and your attendees. Q&A provides a judgement-free zone where all submissions are anonymous, letting people ask questions they may be nervous to ask otherwise. This also helps protect personal information like a Unique ID or Email from being presented to your audience.

Just go under "Interaction Settings" and turn on "Audience Q&A" to get the questions flowing!

Customize Audience Text

You can change what default text the audience sees in their interaction sidebar for each category. You can change the title of from "Q&A" to "Questions!" or "Talk to me!" You can also change the instructions to be more personalized. Just go into your "Personalisation" settings then click "Customise Audience Text". In order to change the default instructions, click the pencil icon on the right hand side.

Chat

While Glisser does not have a dedicated chat function, Q&A can easily be repurposed to have a session's attendees talk to each other. Using the customizable audience text, you can rename "Q&A" to chat and turn off moderation, allowing your audience to have a conversation. While everything is kept anonymous, be sure to remind everyone to sign off on their message.

Feeder Questions

Asking a question can always be a little nerve-wracking, especially if you're the first one. We always suggest that you submit a question as an attendee to get the conversation started, even something as simple as "Hey! Click the "+" below to ask a question and it'll appear here!" is a great start to help ease people into using the Q&A wall.

Moderation

Just incase, you can toggle on moderation to approve, deny, reply to, or edit questions. This is especially useful if an attendee posted an irrelevant or especially hard question. This can be used for something even as simple as correcting bad grammar! Just toggle on "Moderation" under your "Interaction Settings" and you'll be able to moderate the Q&A wall from the "Live Control" link.

Once your event is over, be sure to hop into the "Analytics" tab and see all the questions asked. Q&A is an extremely powerful tool that helps you better understand how to better communicate with your audience. Be sure to make the most of it!
