Human-centered designer, Elise Roy LLC

An inclusive design strategist, lawyer, activist,  and human-rights advocate, Roy helps organizations analyze problems from the vantage point of people with disabilities. Deaf since the age of 10, Roy believes that when businesses design for extremes they come up with better solutions than when they design for the norm. She has given talks across the world for organizations such as Microsoft, NASA, U.S. Institute for Peace, United Nations, World Bank, and AIGA. Her TEDx talk, “When We Design for Disability, We All Benefit,” has more than 1.3 million views.

If we can learn to look beyond what at the outset seems negative, we can reveal endless positivity, possibilities, and potential.
