The first couple of years in business can be hard. Besides the obvious struggle of getting your name out there and booking new business, everything you do is new. You don’t have any templates or guides and you’re out on your own - no boss to guide you. Running your own wedding and event planning company is so much easier when you have a business coach or a mentor to help answer your questions and point you in the right direction. We recently did a Q+A on Instagram where we polled our followers on their mentorship questions. We’re sharing all those questions with you here, as well as our replies!

Do you offer mentorships?

Yes! Chelsea and I each take on a limited number of mentorships each year. Most of these sessions are hourly, but we do also offer intensive sessions.

What topics do you mentor on?

Topics are completely customized based on what our mentees need related to wedding and event planning and design and running your planning business. Popular topics are editorial shoots, the design process, tented events, client experience, and pricing.

Who do you mentor?

Our mentees are all within their first five years of their business. While our offices are in NYC and Boston, our mentees are located all over the country!

Are mentorships in person?

It depends on the mentee! For anyone located in the Boston or NYC area, there is an option to do intensive sessions in person. For anyone who isn’t local to us, we offer video sessions or calls. With the current covid-19 pandemic, all sessions are virtual.

Do you have to have your own company to be mentored by you?

No! You can still be in the process of setting up your own company! However, if you’re a freelance planner or someone who aspires to work for a company, our internships might be a better fit for you.

We only have ONE spot left for 2020 mentorships. If you’re interested, please contact us to learn more! If you’re not sure you need regular guidance, but still need some help on specific things, check out The Brilliant Boutique, where we have bunch of resources, tools, and templates for wedding and event planners!
