Marge & Luka | Chic Boston Rooftop Wedding

Bride and groom on Boston rooftop

Over a year later and we are still reminiscing about Marge and Luka’s chic Boston wedding! Despite having to reschedule, and significantly reduce their guest list due to COVID-19 restrictions, the two still made their romantic Parisian-inspired wedding come to life, surrounded by their closest friends and family. As their Boston wedding planners, we were happy to be by their side every step of the way (even in the pouring rain!). If you missed their full feature on Wedding Chicks, you can check it out here!

Marge and Luka first met at Endicott College where Luka caught her eye with his long hair. From then on, these two were glued at the hip. When the couple began planning a trip to Paris in 2019, Luka knew that it would be the perfect opportunity to surprise Marge with a proposal. Little did he know, Marge had already seen the receipt from local jeweler, Laura Preshong, on his computer!

Despite Marge’s discovery, the proposal was magical, like something out of a movie. The next day, the two ran through the streets of Paris taking engagement photos, and had their first meal as an engaged couple at Lasserre, one of the most romantic restaurants in the city. It could not have been more perfect. After falling in love with Paris, Marge and Luka knew that they wanted their wedding to emulate that same clean, luxurious, and romantic ambiance.

With our help, the two began planning a luxurious 200-person wedding. However, the COVID-19 pandemic had other plans. Like many other couples during this time, they were forced to reschedule their big day and eventually cut their guest list down to 35 people. Although it was not what they had originally expected, our Brilliant Event Planning team worked with Marge and Luka to adjust their vision, while still producing the chic and modern wedding of their dreams.

Their big day began at the Boston Harbor Hotel, where they each got ready in their respective rooms accompanied by their bridal parties. The two looked picture-perfect with Marge wearing a sophisticated custom-made gown accented by her effortlessly stunning bouquet by Winston Flowers. Luka complemented her look in a sleek black tuxedo.

Marge, however, wasn’t the only one in a white dress! As a fun twist, the best man decided to squeeze himself into Marge’s rehearsal outfit and do his own “first look” with the groom. Instead of turning around to see his beautiful bride, Luka was greeted by his best friend in a dress and heels! It gave everyone a good laugh, and made for some pretty hilarious photos!

Not to worry - Marge and Luka got to have a heartwarming first look of their own during which neither of them could take their eyes off each other!

Rainy Boston bride and groom

While many couples would be upset about the rainy weather, Marge and Luka embraced the overcast skies on their wedding day and posed for lots of romantic photos in the streets of Boston. The couple said that the moody weather made it feel even more like Paris to them.

Marge and Luka then headed off to The Cathedral of the Holy Cross where the two tied the knot in an intimate, traditional ceremony. Family and friends cheered as the couple exited the church for the first time as husband and wife and headed off in a vintage car

The ceremony was followed by a gorgeous tented reception at the rooftop at the Revere. Amidst the gloomy skies, our team of amazing vendors was able to create a bright and elegant space for Marge and Luka to celebrate with their closest friends and family.

The couple kept things classic with a predominantly white color palette finished with touches of gold, blush, and black. White floral arrangements with luscious greenery decorated the entrances and tables, and magnificent chandeliers hung overhead, capturing the Parisian essence that Marge and Luka had been envisioning.

The celebration also incorporated personal touches such as a signature cocktail in honor of their dog, Duke, and a custom neon sign with their newly shared last name!
