15Hatfields welcomes Mayor’s initiative to boost Friday business

In support of the Mayor of London’s ‘off-peak Fridays’ campaign to encourage a further return to the office, 15Hatfields will be offering a competitive end of week rate for events and is calling on other venues and event suppliers to follow suit.

With organisers continuing to face the ongoing challenge of rising costs, following the announcement of Sadiq Khan’s plan to reduce peak-time train fares in the capital, the leading sustainable events venue is offering 20% off of its dry hire and daily delegate rates (DDR), to help make Fridays an even more cost-effective day for hosting events.

15Hatfield’s general manager, Warren Campbell, said: “Despite us witnessing a strong post-pandemic return and us achieving a record-breaking November for events held in our Southbank venue, Fridays continue to be 70% down on pre-pandemic levels. And it’s no surprise with TFL reporting a drop of 12% between midweek and Friday travel. There’s clearly work to be done to entice both commuters and those traveling into London for pleasure back into the city.

“That’s why we’re keen to help revitalise the day with our ‘Let’s make Fridays great again’ campaign and are encouraging other venues and suppliers to do the same when the Mayor’s initiative is expected to commence next month. After all, an increase in events being held in the capital will boost London’s wider economic recovery, which we and the wider hospitality industry can all benefit from.

“We know that events support hotels, restaurants, retail and the wider supply chain, alongside generating trade and export, business stimulation and knowledge sharing. That’s why it’s so important that other venues, event suppliers and hospitality providers look upon this as an opportunity to support the campaign and breath life back into the end of the working week. Together we can make Fridays great again.”

This ‘Let’s make Fridays great again’ offer cannot be used with any other DDR discount. It is only applicable from 1 March until 31 May 2024 and is available from 8am-5pm.
