Main Street Hospitality Announces Key Appointments to Leadership Team
6/12/2023
STOCKBRIDGE, MA – As a strategic step forward in the brand’s growth strategy, Main Street Hospitality is pleased to announce key appointments to its leadership team, both at home office and in the field with the promotion of Greta Kipp as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), Brian Smith joining as Regional Director of Operations, and Suzi Darre as Vice President of Human Resources. The expanded leadership structure marks a new chapter for the hospitality brand, allowing for accelerated growth and strengthening operations while deepening the Main Street mission to “Preserve things that matter and build things that last”. Since its founding in 2014, Main Street Hospitality has grown its portfolio to include nine distinctive properties across the U.S. and Canada. Greta Kipp joined the group upon its founding, and has played an integral role in the company’s evolution, holding leadership roles in operations, revenue management, sales, marketing, finance, and IT. As COO, Kipp will implement strategies to support Main Street’s rapid growth by ensuring that property teams have the resources need to achieve business goals, and that infrastructure is built strategically to support expansion. “As we enter into this exciting growth period, my goal is to set the team up to scale in a way that allows us to be forward-thinking while maintaining operational excellence,” said Greta Kipp, Chief Operating Officer of Main Street Hospitality. “As COO, my focus is to systematically remove obstacles to productivity and deploy our talent to deliver the best possible guest experience. Straightforward but impactful.” "It’s hard for me to picture a Main Street Hospitality without Greta Kipp,” said Sarah Eustis, Founder, and CEO of Main Street Hospitality. “Her ability to see the big picture and communicate clearly about our business will contribute to her success in this key leadership role. It’s an honor to have her take on this opportunity alongside several new operations leaders with similarly prestigious hospitality backgrounds." In addition to Kipp's appointment as COO, Brian Smith is joining as Regional Director of Operations reporting directly to Kipp. Smith has held previous management positions with Kimpton Nine Zero Boston, Hilton, and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. He will manage the overall operations of a dedicated group of Main Street Hospitality hotels and restaurants, continuously optimizing hotel performance while staying true to the brand’s core values. "This is an exciting time to be a part of Main Street," said Brian Smith, Regional Director of Operations at Main Street Hospitality. "I look forward to supporting Greta’s strategic and operational vision and empowering teams to elevate the brand’s commitment to authenticity.” Furthermore, the hospitality brand has welcomed Suzi Darre as Vice President of Human Resources to bring Main Street’s purpose to life as it scales, overseeing its dynamic portfolio. Darre brings extensive experience in human resource leadership having director of talent across 11 states and notable hospitality names including The Carlyle, a Rosewood hotel, The Surrey, a Relais & Chateaux hotel, and the Auberge Resorts Collection. “Hospitality plays a pivotal role in human connection,” said Suzi Darre, Vice President of Human Resources at Main Street Hospitality. “Regardless of reason for traveling, people are forging memories in new places and the people they cross make a lasting impression. I look forward to creating professional opportunities for this growing portfolio and mixing my luxury lifestyle expertise with Main Street’s historic properties to create an environment people want to chose again and again whether for work or play.” “Having someone in the people role, dedicated to driving the development and retention of the industry’s best talent is vital for Main Street Hospitality as it continues its growth trajectory at its current scale,” said Eustis. As the brand’s portfolio continues to grow, enlisting strong leadership in the field remains a critical component in driving the Main Street and hometown culture of each property to guests. In conjunction with executive leadership, Main Street is pleased to announce the appointment of two new general managers at two of its acclaimed properties: Cate Colombo at Chebeague Island Inn in Chebeague Island, ME and Simon Dewar at the iconic Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA which is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year.
