The Business of Events has Released it’s 2023 Prospectus and New Head of Partnerships Confirmed

The Business of Events (TBOE) has released its 2023 Prospectus and confirmed that Rachael Boraston has joined in a freelance capacity as Head of Partnerships.

TBOE is a not-for-profit, independent Think Tank for the UK events sector; an industry that has enormous economic potential.

While remaining not-for-profit, the new Prospectus outlines commercial opportunities which will help fund the work of the new Policy Unit, which has been set up with the objective of developing a policy agenda for the events industry ahead of the next UK General Election.

TBOE is able to deliver its programme of activities thanks to the generous support of strategic and commercial partners, which include leading business events destinations, major venues, convention centres, stadiums, trade shows and exhibition companies, brand agencies and technology providers alongside Government departments and other public sector organisations.

New Head of Partnerships

Rachael Boraston, formerly Head of Destination at London & Partners, has joined TBOE in a freelance capacity as Head of Partnerships and will to drive forward new opportunities to support the work of the Policy Unit.

Rachael boasts a successful career in the sector and has been a familiar face advocating for the wider events industry. Prior to her time at London & Partners and London Convention Bureau, she worked as Client Success Manager at the Financial Times and has worked extensively promoting the Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions (MICE) sector in Los Angeles.

Martin Fullard, Associate Director, News & Content, The Business of Events said: “The work we are doing to create a policy agenda for the events industry is vital and requires a lot of patience and energy. Over the last few months, the team have been working hard to build a structure that enables us to engage with the industry and to present and develop initiatives with key industry stakeholders.

“To support this work, we have been truly humbled by the generous support of our existing partners, but more are needed to ensure greater progress is made. As such, I am delighted that Rachael Boraston has joined us as Head of Partnerships.

“Rachael’s experience in the sector needs no introduction, and she shares our passion for building a solid, evidence-based plan for the sector.”

Rachael Boraston, Head of Partnerships, The Business of Events said: “I am delighted to be supporting such an important initiative for our industry.

“As someone who so passionately believes that our sector needs a firm agenda and evidence-based support, as well as be able to demonstrate what it can offer the UK, I’m so proud to support TBOE, and to onboard partners to further facilitate the great work being undertaken.”
