IET London: Savoy Place shortlisted for two London Venue & Catering Awards

IET London: Savoy Place has been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s London Venue & Catering Awards – The Sustainability Award for Venues (up to 400 attendees reception style) and Best Venue Team.

The shortlisting in the sustainability category comes as the IET continues on its path to becoming a net zero organisation by 2030, and recognises the significant progress made to date. The organisation’s flagship venue, IET London: Savoy Place, has robust energy-saving processes and infrastructure in place. This includes powering the venue using 100 per cent renewable energy, building sustainability into its tender process for new suppliers, and ensuring that no waste is sent to landfill. The venue has also secured several eco-ratings including BREEAM Good Rating, Investors in the Environment Silver Accreditation, and most recently the Greengage ECOsmart Platinum Award.

In addition to the Sustainability Award, IET London: Savoy Place’s 55-strong daily team, made up of IET staff and its partners from Searcy’s, Xenon and CTS, has been shortlisted for the Best Venue Team award. Clients frequently praise the team for its friendliness, efficiency and the knowledge of on-site staff, as well as their ability to seamlessly work together with teams to deliver successful events.

Martyn Westcott-Wreford, Operations Manager at IET London: Savoy Place said: “The London Venue & Catering Awards are an excellent opportunity to showcase and celebrate the hard work of venues across the capital. The nominations are testament to the tenacity and dedication of our team members, and to be shortlisted in two categories and recognised for our efforts is extremely gratifying.”

IET London: Savoy Place regularly hosts events for the science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) sectors in addition to association, charity, government and private and public sector events.

The London Venue & Catering Awards, which have run annually since 2015, celebrate and champion the achievements and success of venues within London’s 32 boroughs and the City of London. The winners of the 2023 awards will be announced at a ceremony on 24November at City Central at the HAC, London.
