65 Queen’s Gate refurbishes Kingfisher Room to meet demand for informal workspaces

WFH and Zoom meetings have become the ‘norm’ over the last 14 months, but with the Government now easing restrictions around a return to the office and attending events, 65 Queen’s Gate in South Kensington has revamped its Kingfisher Room to gives businesses the option of a less formal atmosphere for meetings and get-togethers.

The updated Kingfisher Room has been designed to strike a chord of familiarity with those who use it, to help break down barriers and encourage collaboration after months of siloed working. Different seating areas have been incorporated, with the addition of comfy chairs and cosy corners for discussions and breakouts, while the walls have been painted yellow due to its association with warmth, sunshine, positivity, and energy. Several green plants have been added to help reduce stress, increase productivity, and boost creativity, as well as being a subtle nod to the familiar WFH environment. Two blackboard walls have also been introduced into the space to help encourage free-thinking and the creation of new ideas.

To coincide with the refreshed Kingfisher Room, 65 Queen’s Gate has launched a new ‘Team Rebuilding’ package, which is ideal for home-based teams who require a one-off or regular location to meet. Designed to bring teams back together in a safe, central London location, the Team Rebuilding package features full day meeting room hire, access to the popular Roof Terrace for refreshments or teambuilding, as well as catering.

Emma Barrow, Head of Events at 65 Queen’s Gate, says: “Our clients have been instrumental in how we develop our meeting spaces and packages, and we’ve noted an increase in demand for less formal meeting spaces that encourage an easy transition from the WFH environment. Many businesses will continue the home-based model of remote working, and our newly refurbished Kingfisher Room, alongside our Team Rebuilding package, offers the perfect environment to bring teams back together face-to-face. Whether it’s a company update, staff training, or just an away day together, we’ve got everything in place to safely welcome guests back to the venue.”
