Smithbucklin's Lauren Miller Receives Young Professional of the Year Award

CHICAGO — Smithbucklin is delighted to announce Lauren Miller, CMP, CEM, was named the 2023 Young Professional of the Year by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the largest association of the exhibitions and events industry in the world. This award recognizes excellent professional performance by IAEE members 35 years of age or younger who have committed their time to advancing the standing of young professionals in the event and exhibition industry.

Miller’s remarkable commitment to promoting and engaging young individuals in the events and exhibitions sector truly sets her apart as a deserving recipient of this esteemed award. She advocates for the advancement of young professionals in the events and exhibitions industry by encouraging and mentoring Smithbucklin colleagues to engage in industry events, IAEE activities, and to pursue the Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation.

To achieve the event objectives of Smithbucklin clients, Miller showcases creativity by presenting innovative ideas and strategies. Her ability to develop initiatives and execute events and tradeshows that resonate with attendees underscores her dedication to events as a medium for association growth.

"Lauren’s proactive engagement, collaborative spirit, and strategic efforts in fostering the growth and inclusion of young professionals undoubtedly make her a role model for emerging event professionals,” said Jerry Murphy, Portfolio Director, Event Services, Smithbucklin. “Her engagement within the events industry exemplifies her determination to build essential relationships, vital for the industry's growth and evolution."

Miller is also an active member of the IAEE Midwestern Chapter and serves as a co-chair for the Programming Committee. In this role, she diligently identifies high-quality speakers and pertinent topics for educational events to maximize participation.

Miller serves as an event manager in the Event Services unit at Smithbucklin. She is the first Smithbucklin employee to be recognized as an IAEE Young Professional of the Year award recipient.
