SOMERSET HOUSE CONFIRMS PARTNERSHIP WITH LIGHT MOTIF

Following a rigorous re-tender process of the eight listed audio-visual companies, Light Motif has won the two-year contract to provide services for the new day delegate rate at the iconic riverside London venue.

From this month, meetings and conferences in the Portico and Navy Board rooms will feature contemporary white wireless speakers, sleek laptops with the latest software, lapel and hand-held microphones plus a sound desk with control hidden lectern and technician. The Portico Rooms have the luxury of two balconies allowing for plenty of fresh air with views across the Thames and the Edmond J Safra Fountain Courtyard. They also include four breakout spaces. The Navy Board Rooms are replete with original neo-classical features and have three breakout rooms included as standard.

Rob Mills, managing director of Light Motif said, “we pride ourselves on providing a discreet and smart service for heritage London venues and it’s a pleasure to be working with one of our favourite spaces.”

Light Motif will provide guaranteed and secure live streaming, coloured uplighting, staging and backdrops, furniture and logo projections to complete the minimalist look. As a full-service production company, Light Motif can provide whatever the occasion requires on top of the initial package.

Stephanie Bevan-Moss, deputy head of commercial events said, “partnering with Light Motif for our delegate rate enables us to give our clients a chic and contemporary feel that allows the subject matter to shine in an inspiring setting. Their equipment is state-of-the-art so clients really are getting the best of what is available.”

On top of the new AV offering, the venue’s onsite caterer, Restaurant Associates, has also updated its delegate menus following client tastes and healthy food trends with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The Gourmet Sandwich Menu also includes fruit bowls, salads and soup for winter, a second option of a hot and cold fork buffet and a third option of an entirely vegan menu.

Bevan-Moss continued “clients are increasingly asking for healthy and sustainable options with less gluten, dairy and meat and so we’ve worked with Restaurant Associates to ensure we offer delicious and healthy options for all our conferences and meetings. Delegates can get the best out of their day at Somerset House.”

Mariana Dumitrascu, sales and marketing manager, Restaurant Associates said “Food trends are always evolving and our chefs pride themselves on being at the cutting-edge. Our focus on maximum nutrition and minimum emission has been a key driver in redesigning our offer. We have developed our menus to offer nutritionally dense and delicious tasting food that doesn’t cost the Earth.”

Conferences comprise 11% of the venue’s events and the new DDR packages are available from September for a minimum of 50 guests and a maximum 60 in the Navy Board Rooms. And for a minimum of 80 guests in the Portico Rooms and a maximum of 100, both theatre style from 08.00 – 16.00, though times can be extended for additional cost.
