BARBIE CONTINUES TO SHINE IN THE CORPORATE WORLD AT VUE VENUES

Barbie, the movie, released late in July isn’t just a consumer blockbuster. Big business in the worlds of banking, retail, education and media are clamouring to the cinema chain to book private screenings for the film.

Simona Negretto, Head of Conferences and Events at Vue said “It’s quite extraordinary, as a business we haven’t seen anything like this in years and for the Barbie trend to continue into the corporate world is incredible. The Barbie screenings booked are for staff rewards and family days. There has been a 25% increase in private screenings with Barbie currently topping the list, but we’re also screening Indiana Jones and Elemental and have plenty of enquiries for Dune, Wish and Wonka later in the year.”

The ‘Barbenheimer’ effect has been widely reported across the media detailing the dazzling effect both these films (Barbie and Oppenheimer = Barbenheimer) have had on the public, which cinemas haven’t seen for a while. Vue Entertainment reported having its best week ever with the arrival of Barbie and Oppenheimer in the UK and Ireland in terms of general admissions. The release of the smash hit films saw the previous record, which has stood since the week Skyfall was released in 2012, beaten by a whopping 20 per cent. However, it isn’t just in England, demand has been seen across every country where Vue has a presence.

Some clients are taking the theming to the maximum choosing a pink carpet for guest arrival, pink glittery walls, a Barbie photobooth, themed cocktails and canapés and styled waiting and bar staff.

Negretto continued “It seems both clients and agents appreciate the fact that we have a selection of caterers to choose from and we can go the extra mile at Vue to make a private screening a really special experience. Obviously, the extras are a fabulous addition, yet even without those, clients can be confident that the plush leather seating, Dolby Atmos and Sony 4K screens give the best cinema experience.”

Barbie shows no signs of slowing down, so there is still time to book a visit to Barbieland!
