Following a run of successful events and relocations in 2019, ExCeL London has announced significant investment in its technology infrastructure. This year, ExCeL will play host to over 400 events, welcoming four million visitors to a diverse range of world leading exhibitions, corporate events and association meetings.

ExCeL has partnered with market leader, Ruckus Networks, to upgrade to the latest Wi-Fi standard (Wi-Fi 5), doubling the number of access points in each hall. This will allow the venue to increase the number concurrent users (client devices) to 100,000, an increase of 300%, further enhancing the experience for guests. This upgrade will also allow ExCeL to seamlessly upgrade to Wi-Fi 6, in 2020, increasing speeds by a further 30%.

This upgrade has been timed to coincide with the opening of Sibos, the world’s premier financial services event, and Brand Licensing Europe, the leading licensing event in Europe.

Jeremy Rees, CEO, ExCeL London: “The world leading events hosted at ExCeL London deserve the very latest, cutting-edge technology. We are committed to providing our customers and guests with a first-class experience, that allows them to connect seamlessly. We currently play host to over 30 technology-focused events, welcoming 500,000 professionals in the sector, every year. As well as large scale exhibitions, global technology brands, including Adobe, Salesforce, Google, Strata and Oracle, are choosing London to host proprietary events. We are committed to winning and retaining market leading shows, which is why we have a long-term plan for investment, to ensure we meet the needs of every client.”
