Nashville's Convention Center Authority Announces New Board Members

NASHVILLE, TENN. – The Convention Center Authority announced three new board members. Tracy Hardin, Dee Patel, and Betsy Wills were appointed by Nashville Mayor John Cooper and confirmed by the Metropolitan Council on Tuesday evening.

Tracy Hardin is Managing Partner with Don Hardin Group, a construction consulting and project management firm. She manages multi-million-dollar project budgets, while also serving on the boards of Make-A-Wish Foundation and Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee.

Dee Patel is Managing Director with The Hermitage Hotel, a luxury hotel and Nashville landmark. She oversees the hotel’s operations and strategic direction, while also serving on several boards including Centennial Park Conservancy and The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Betsy Wills is Director of Branding and Marketing with Diversified Trust, an investment service firm. She’s responsible for the firm’s comprehensive strategy, while also serving on several boards including Nashville Public Radio and Nashville Public Library Foundation.

“To have these accomplished and civic-minded individuals join the board is an incredible asset,” said Music City Center President and Chief Executive Officer Charles Starks. “We’re excited to have them guide our future success.”

The new board members will fill the roles vacated by outgoing board members Marty Dickens, Irwin Fisher, and Austin Brown. The Convention Center Authority was created to oversee the development and operation of Music City Center, as well as any investments or projects connected to the convention center. The Authority consists of nine members, appointed by the mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County to serve a four-year term.

Terms for Hardin, Patel, and Wills will begin immediately.
