Stephanie Klett

Stephanie Klett, Wisconsin’s secretary of tourism for the past eight years, has been named president and chief executive officer of VISIT Lake Geneva, effective April 8. For 18 years, Klett was host of the Discover Wisconsin Television and Radio series, where she has continued to host on occasion. In January 2011, she was appointed to lead the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. In her new role, Klett will be responsible for strategic planning, business development, marketing, promotions, and building strong partnerships.

Aaron Jones

The Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau has appointed Aaron Jones as its new executive vice president. He joins the organization after serving for four years as CEO of MetroLacrosse, the largest urban lacrosse and youth development program in the United States. In this position, he will oversee day-to-day operations, operating budgets, financial practices, and revenue generation. He will also help grow Boston’s market share of visitors.

Jay Altizer and Jason Popp

GES has announced that GES North America President Jay Altizer has expanded his leadership role. Altizer joined the organization in May 2018. His expanded role will include responsibility for GES events, marketing, the GES event accommodations company onPeak, and the GES audiovisual company ON Services.

Jason Popp has been promoted to president of GES EMEA. He previously served as GES executive vice president since 2011 and in various global leadership roles since 2004.

Jason Dunn

The Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced a new diversity and inclusion initiative that will be led by Jason Dunn, CTA. As group vice president, diversity sales and inclusion, Dunn will lead the new department responsible for five initiatives that include all CVB programs related to diversity and inclusion, including: diversity sales, supplier diversity, developing the CVB’s first internal diversity and inclusion initiative, expanding the Vibe marketing platform, and growing the Dan Lincoln Institute for Hospitality Leadership. Dunn joined the CVB in 2004 and has since led efforts to enhance business with the national multicultural meetings market.

Dan Douglas

The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (Visit Raleigh) has retained the services of Dan Douglas of Urban Strategy Group to oversee aspects of the Wake County Destination Strategic Plan, or Destination 2028 Plan, which was revealed last year. Douglas will serve as the bureau’s director of destination development. Douglas, who specializes in creating innovative models of urban revitalization, tourism planning, entertainment districts, and sustainable economic development will be leading Visit Raleigh’s efforts around four of the eight priorities within the Destination 2028 Plan: events, key attractors, destination development, and quality of place.

Peter Cranis

Peter Cranis has been tapped to serve as executive director of Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism. He has spent his entire professional career in various marketing and related communications positions in Florida, and most recently served as head of marketing and sales for ICON Orlando.
