Athena Events Venue stars in BBC Documentary

Athena Events Venue, the Art Deco Grade II-listed meetings and events venue located in Leicester’s cultural quarter, has been featured in a BBC Documentary on Britain’s history of Motown.

The documentary stars the iconic Leicester venue, which hosted Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, and Smokey Robinson & The Miracles when it was named the Odeon Theatre.

BBC Radio Leicester’s Herdle White was interviewed at the venue and shared his stories of when Motown stars visited the city to perform back in the 1960s.

The documentary appeared on BBC2 and is now available on BBC iPlayer.

Athena continues to host music and cultural shows, as well as corporate events, conferences, awards, exhibitions, meetings, and festivals. Major corporate brands to have visited Athena recently include Virgin Media 02, Krispy Kreme, Next, Sport England, and British Gas.
