In-person events are back and they’re smaller and more local than ever. In 2022, they will keep moving out of impersonal hotel ballrooms to more unique venues. One of the biggest event trends in 2022 is sourcing venues with character. Local event venues can make a lasting impression on your attendees and gives them a chance to get to know the destination better.

Today, we are acknowledging this event trend by giving you a list of the best event venues in Phoenix, Arizona. After all, our founder Will Curran is a proud Phoenician and is happy to share his venue sourcing tips with the world.

Phoenix is a great destination for corporate events because it has warm weather year-round, giving planners the option to move their events outdoors should there be a last-minute COVID-19 outbreak. Some of the best Phoenix event venues are former warehouses, renovated into urban spaces with rustical elements that support local businesses. Others, however, are set away from downtown, in the desert

Read the blog to learn more about these amazing spaces for corporate events, weddings, and social gatherings, such as amenities, attendee capacity, and what the atmosphere is like.

The Van Buren PHX

The Van Buren is a concert venue with a 1,800 capacity, but it can also be rented out for corporate events, weddings, and community events for up to 600 attendees. The rental costs start at $15,000. It is located within a former automotive showroom, originally built in 1939, and it is not lacking unique charm.

The Van Buren team can also help with event production. They also allow outside catering.

The Clayton House

A postal storage warehouse turned stylish event venue, the Clayton House hosts weddings, celebrations, and corporate events for up to 700 attendees. While its industrial skeleton remains, this venue is adorned with rustic elements, such as a beautiful patio, comfortable furniture, wood rafters, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. With two indoor/outdoor spaces, the venue is perfect for hosting breakout sessions and networking events.

The venue also comes with exceptional in-house catering (including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free selection), a green room, a customizable light wall, and more. Let the accolades speak for themselves; they recently won 2nd place in the 2020 Global Future Design Award.

While it’s true that we typically challenge event planners to take their events outside hotel ballrooms, this one has made the list because of its amazing location close to Phoenix’s signature mountainous terrain.

Desert Foothills Events

Unlike other venues on this list, Desert Foothills is not an urban Phoenix event venue. It is tucked away in the desert. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor space: a 10,000-square-foot barn, 2,500-square-foot patio, a dance floor, and a cookout area.

It makes for a great setting for corporate events, weddings, birthdays, team-building events, and other celebrations. Their amenities include:

  • full production and AV assistance,
  • full-service event management and vendor coordination,
  •  on-site catering and staff,
  • event decorations.

They are located near North Scottsdale, close to major hotels where your attendees can stay for the night. The main selling point is their rustic barn with high ceilings, surrounded by pristine Arizona desert.
