This summer we are releasing a new version of our Eventspace app that has been re-engineered from the ground up for hybrid events.

With built-in networking, personalization, content and analytics features, SpotMe now offers the most comprehensive hybrid event experience for you and your audience.

The new version of Eventspace brings three key developments:

  • Hybrid-ready: Bridge the gap between online and in-person attendees.
  • Relationship-building: Whether people meet face-to-face, or over the built-in video chat, don’t leave networking to chance at your hybrid events.
  • Online-first: Users no longer need to “sync” their apps to use them, thanks to the new online-first architecture.

Hybrid-ready

Live stream from a venue with live polling. Switch apps while watching the live stream.

Eventspace still has the same great features for following live streams: applause, Q&A and polls are built-in. Let your audience choose if they want to attend from their office, daily commute, couch or attend in-person.

We are committed to continue offering all SpotMe features on all platforms. This means your favourite virtual event features are also available in the mobile event app, including some special features such as Maps to navigate around the venue, QR code scanner for check-ins, and more.

Relationship-building

Join video calls from your phone. Stay only on video or see screen-shared content from users on desktop.

Regardless of where your audience is, they can now connect on Eventspace. Be it on the activity feed by exchanging latest updates, or by joining a video call.

With Video calls on mobile, your sponsors and exhibitors can also hold meetings with online attendees. Paired with our matchmaking feature, attendees can also connect with each other using video calls and expand their network live at your event.

Online-first

Performance improvements in SpotMe’s new mobile event app

Wi-Fi and 4G have become ubiquitous since we first released our mobile app back in 2011.

This was the key insight that drove the re-engineering of our mobile apps. By expecting users to be connected when using our mobile app, we no longer need to download all of the event information to the device.

Paired with our new cloud infrastructure, your new event mobile app starts up blazingly fast. In fact, it starts so fast it does not need a loading screen anymore. In addition, the app will now use up to 90% less disk space per event.

Coming soon

Eventspace will be rolling out starting June 21, 2021, and will include video chats and breakouts on iOS. Video chats will also be available on Android at release, while Video breakouts will be coming in July.

Updated branded apps will be gradually rolled out starting in July 2021. See the release timeline on our knowledge base.
