SOMERSET HOUSE BRINGS THE FUN BACK TO BUSINESS WITH DODGE: DRINK, DINE & DODGEMS

From mid-July, the events industry will see an explosion of fun and good times once again at Somerset House with the launch of DODGE: Drink, Dine and Dodgems, running from Thursday 15th July – Sunday 22nd August. On Mondays the corporate market can exclusively hire DODGE and connect with colleagues once more in a riot of colour, music and entertainment in the spectacular courtyard.

Unlimited DODGE passes can be added on to any event being held from Tuesdays to Sundays for just £10 per person, making it an economical and fun summer entertainment option and a great way to bring colleagues back together in person*. To create DODGE, Somerset House collaborated with co-designer and creative director of the 2021 Brit Awards Yinka Ilori, Mercury Prize nominee Anna Meredith and sound artist Nick Ryan to transform the courtyard. During exclusive hire, smoking hot street food and drinks will be served to Ilori’s outdoor booths nestled amongst a large-scale multi-colour installation, in which guests can immerse themselves and escape the real world for a while.

The new interactive dodgems ride from Somerset House Studios resident Anna Meredith in collaboration with fellow resident Nick Ryan is called ‘Bumps Per Minute.’ Each dodgem is tracked with bespoke wireless technology and with every swerve, bump and jolt, a unique audio-visual composition is created, resulting in new musical material.

Culinary star Jimmy Garcia has devised the gastronomic delights including bone marrow beef burgers, spiced butternut squash falafel wraps, green chilli sriracha chips and seriously extra sundaes all served in the Yinka Ilori designed booths. Moët & Chandon will be providing champagne for every occasion whilst San Miguel, the lager.
