The Rugby League World Cup (RLWC2021) 2021 has appointed WeTrack, a London-based event planning and project management platform, to assist in the project-planning and risk-management of the event.

Though this will be the first time WeTrack has worked with the sport, the event company brings with it a wealth of experience from supplying the likes of the Cricket World Cup, Wimbledon, and Ascot.

Including its project, task and risk and issue management systems, as well as its advanced reporting suite, WeTrack will supply a platform that allows organisers to reduce costs, risks and time on certain planning stages.

Stephen Brown, COO of Rugby League World Cup 2021 said: “After a lot of consideration and some recommendations from other major events such as Cricket World Cup, we selected WeTrack to provide our central project and risk management system.

“What we really liked was its ease of use and focus on delivering major events. The team at WeTrack helped us migrate all our existing plans and spreadsheets into one central system and configured it to suit our needs. We are excited to partner with WeTrack and see what other modules from its suite of tools will enhance the delivery of RLWC2021.”

WeTrack director, Pete Ward, commented: “Event operators are becoming increasingly aware that lots of spreadsheets and generic project management systems are not the most efficient way to plan and deliver events.”Ward continued to explain that identifying a plan of action, efficiently track its progress, manage risks and then completely automate all the reporting has historically been a huge burden on an organiser’s time. “WeTrack has been focusing on this for more than five years and is uniquely placed to provide event delivery software,” Ward finished.
