tappit, the only truly global cashless solution specialist for sports, festivals and other global entertainment venues, is continuing an impressive 12 month period of European growth with the opening of a new office in Barcelona, Spain.

The base will be led by Carlos Martinez Borrell, (pictured left,) and Jesus Jodar, (pictured right,) who join tappit from the self-service ticketing and registration platform, Eventbrite. Both will be bringing their extensive knowledge of the Spanish and European live event sectors to expand tappit’s already-impressive portfolio. They will be responsible for growing the team in Barcelona and providing localised one-on-one support to tappit clients in the region.

Speaking about his new role, Jesus said: “This is a really exciting time to join tappit. The company has enjoyed incredible growth over the last 12 months, opening new offices and introducing clients around the world to the benefits of its unique cashless payment solutions. We are keen to build on this incredible foundation and support the company to further grow its European customer base. We can’t wait to help events and venues in Spain and beyond provide a more enjoyable experience for fans.”

tappit’s growth continues apace, particularly in Asia-Pacific, recently signing numerous events in Thailand, including the inaugural SIAM Songkran Music Festival. Due to be held in April 2019, this is a new event in the Thai calendar, taking place as the centrepiece of the country’s New Year festivities.

SIAM Songkran organisers are expecting to see more than 60,000 fans over the course of the four-day event and tappit will be supporting organisers in ensuring the event goes off with a bang by providing a full cashless experience. With this solution, the people behind Siam Songkran are confident that they will be able to provide an incredible experience for all attendees.

tappit also recently announced a partnership with the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019, providing its cashless solution exclusively to three bars at the Melbourne event.

Jason Thomas, CEO of tappit explains “It has been an incredibly busy year for tappit, we’ve significantly exceeded targets and have opened 8 new offices around the world. APAC in particular has provided a number of exciting opportunities for us – we’ve been able to partner with some fantastic events in the region, including festivals, venues and sports events. We don’t intend to rest on our laurels, though. We want to harness our expertise and local presence to build on our success. We’re looking forward to delivering a quality cashless experience around the world for promoters and fans alike.”
