20 Great Social Media Tools for Event and Association Marketers

A little over a year ago, we posted a cool social media cheat sheet that helped event and association marketers understand the social media platforms that are effective with specific groups/demographics. After a quick review, the post is still pretty accurate, and we have now found an infographic that could be considered a companion piece. The tools below will help you maximize your time and resources when reaching your peeps.

Tools are cool. They are things we use to make our lives easier. Just as you can get tools for the garden that allow you to move dirt more effectively, these are the tools that will allow you to use social media faster and more efficiently. Make no mistake; social media is still one of the best ways to market your event or association, keep attendees and members updated, and introduce yourself to hundreds, if not thousands of people across town or around the globe. Tools make this process easier.

The infographic below comes from our friends at Design Wizard.

Which brings me to a warning… Shiny Object Syndrome (SOS) is a real thing, so if you already use a tool similar to the one listed, don’t feel the need to jump over to something new. Your tool of choice may be just as good. For example, this list mentions Manageflitter for pruning and growing your Twitter followers… We use Crowdfire. Both are great tools. If we willy-nilly just switched, it would set back progress. Do this enough times, and you quit because “nothing seems to work.” We know… We battle SOS every day in our office and with our clients. The trick is finding the best tool for you and sticking with it.

That being said, let’s get to the goods because if you are not yet using tools for social media, any on this list is a good choice.
