Global inspirational talk and ‘notworking’ community, Glug, is partnering with CANNT Festival to launch a series of events taking place around the world, simultaneously with Cannes Lions Awards (19th – 25th June), in celebration of creativity.

The grassroots campaign will see cities across the globe including London, Warsaw, Stockholm, New York and Cape Town host a fringe event with Saatchi & Saatchi, Dentsu, Crush Creative, Publicis and other top agencies already confirmed to take part. There are currently events scheduled in more than 20 cities across 11 countries.

The CAANT Festival is the international alternative to Cannes Lions and was created by Simon Gill and Laura Jordan Bambach as a community festival that celebrates creativity. With Publicis Group not attending Cannes Lions this year and controversy over whether WPP will continue to support the festival, CANNT is expecting a record turnout at its global series of fringe events.

Founder and Glug CEO Ian Hambleton:

“This isn’t anti Cannes Lions. Rather, we wanted to create a grass roots alternative to celebrate creative ideas during a week everyone is talking about creativity. Every year the senior creative leaders in business around the world head to Cannes, but agencies are built on a huge range of diverse people many of whom get left behind. We want to help young creatives on their career journey and bringing them together in their hometown to celebrate an industry-wide event.”

CANNT Co-founder, BIMA Council Member and Isobar CCO Simon Gill:

“I’m totally stoked about our plans for 2018 as we aim to make CANNT the World’s Festival of Creativity. It’s fantastic that we’ve teamed up with Glug again, as they too champion young diverse talent, and are an awesome group to work with. We’re thrilled to be sharing the stage with them this June. So, let’s all come together, celebrate great ideas and make new friends in the process.”

Saatchi & Saatchi IS, eCommerce Design Director, Rafał Bauer:

“Glug x CANNT is a perfect platform for Saatchi & Saatchi IS to share experience and have fun at the same time. Especially, that it comes along with our vision: “Think Human, Search Data, Use Technology”. We can finally come together under one roof, meet inspiring people, exchange thoughts and celebrate creative industry in Warsaw.”

Crush Creative, Founder, Carl Rush:

“We can’t make Cannes. But we can make CANNT happen… it’s imperative, in this industry, that we show support for one another, the work and the community we operate in. We’re all naturally curious individuals, which is why we choose to work in the creative world, constantly learning and sharing knowledge. Coming together with like-minded agencies, over a beer (or PIMM’s in the case of our CANNT Summer Party this year) and toasting the awesome work we’re all creating feels like a very natural celebration of creativity. Plus we always have a bloody good time”.

Glug is looking for agencies around the world to take part in one of two ways:

#CANNTlunch

On Tuesday 19th of June, Glug’s looking for agencies and studios to open their doors for an hour and invite their own staff, clients and local communities to come together for a few talks on celebrating creativity. All the host need to organise are some nibbles, drinks and two speakers.

Glug x CANNT Summer Party

On Thursday 21st June, Glug and CANNT are encouraging everyone at a creative business to get together and discuss the industry and meet new people. This can range from in-house drinks, through to invitational Summer Parties. All we ask is for the host to arrange somewhere for the creative community to get together, celebrate creativity and expand their network.

Glug x CANNT host cities: London / Warsaw / Tirana / Stockholm / New York / San Francisco / Manchester / Munich / Preston / Dublin / Sheffield / Gothenberg / Cape Town / Bristol / Prishtina / Birmingham / Brighton / Leeds / Sydney

Agencies confirmed to host a Glug x CANNT event: Dentsu / Design Studio / Landor / Nomad / Manifest LDN / Manifest NYC / Manifest STO / Saatchi & Saatchi / Social Chain / Forepoint / Ragged Edge / UsTwo / Possible / Output / Publicis / Isobar / EY Seren / Signal Noise / Crush Creative / PAPA GOAT
