Chief Executive of the QEII Centre, Mark Taylor, has been announced as the latest appointment to the board of London & Partners.
With more than 30 years’ experience in business and leisure tourism, including roles at the Wales Millennium Centre, the Barbican and Wembley Stadium, before taking on his current position at the QEII Centre in 2013, Mark has been appointed to the board for his expertise in business events.
Mark will play a key role in advising London & Partners, the Mayor of London’s official promotional agency, on how London can maintain and build its international reputation as a MICE destination.

Mark’s extensive expertise in this space will help inform London & Partners’ strategy in continuing to build London’s international reputation as a leading destination for business meetings, congresses, exhibitions and incentives.”
As a board member, Taylor’s role will involve:
• Management of the company’s business, as set out in the Articles of Association
• Leading the development of strategies, policies and plans to discharge London & Partners’ purposes
• Monitoring the performance of the company, to ensure that it meets its strategic objectives and targets
• Promoting high standards of propriety, best practice and the efficient and effective use of staff and resources
• Representing London on the Board of BTA (VisitBritain) as London & Partners observer.
Speaking after his appointment, Mark, who is also on the board of the Meetings Industry Association (mia) said: “I am thrilled to have been chosen to join the board of London & Partners, and to have the opportunity to represent not only the QEII Centre, but the wider needs of the London events industry, at this level. London & Partners plays a vital role in marketing London as a leading MICE destination and ensuring we have the infrastructure in place to bring major international business into the city. I look forward to bringing my own expertise in this area to the board and helping to shape London’s business events strategy.”
