This year saw PTL (www.ptl.uk.com) return to this iconic Hyde Park event, with six nights of performances from the world’s biggest acts, including open access events during the week and the biggest ever fanzone for an England world cup game. Barclaycard presents British Summer Time brought some of the world’s most well-known acts to the Great Oak Stage and required some of the UK’s bests contractors to make it happen. Roger Waters, Michael Bublé and Eric Clapton, Bruno Mars, The Cure and Paul Simon (performing his last ever UK gig) all wowed record audiences in West London over the two weekends.

Portable Toilets Limited (PTL) have been contracted, since the event began, to supply all the backstage, VIP, Guest and Artist sanitation. Obviously, expectations for guests in these areas were extremely high, but a selection of products from our luxury ranges made sure that everyone had a truly VIP experience.

The Hospitality area was privy to our Hullabaloos (www.hullabaloos.net) range. A fully modular, fresh water vacuum loo system that is oak-panelled and gives a truly luxurious feel. As with all of PTL’s vacuum loo equipment, it uses a highly sustainable design that requires only 400ml of water per flush. This is less than a tenth of what is required by more traditional, fresh water non-vacuum systems. Fitted with Dyson air blade hand dryers, the installation has a very modern feel whilst also reducing hand towel waste.

Accessible provision is extremely high on our agenda in 2018.  At the beginning of the season we asked to be externally audited by Attitude is Everything, who were extremely impressed with our accessible offering. We supplied BST with one of our new, highly specced High Dependency Units (HDU). With a height adjustable bed, electric hoist and fully compliant layout, it enables those with the greatest access requirements the ability to attend these wonderful events without added stress.

For the Ultimate Garden, our newly designed VACPODS were just the ticket! Again, using our highly sustainable vacuum technology in different configuration (5 bay WCs, or 2 WCs and 7 urinals), we were able to provide clean, modern sanitation for thousands of VIP guests, and it didn’t miss a beat. This product has really gained traction, now being supplied to RHS Chatsworth and Tatton Park, Henley, Royal Ascot and many others.
