GL events Group announces major new partnerships

GL events has raised its target for annual growth following the announcement of five new contracts in Europe, South America and Asia, representing a total value of €70 million in sales.

Following its support of COP22, 2016, Marrakech, GL events has been awarded with the contract to provide a complete and diverse temporary infrastructure solution for the 25th Conference of the Parties (COP25) United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The global provider of integrated solutions and services for live events, conferences and exhibitions will deliver a complete overlay solution across 60,000 sqm of temporary event space, creating conference facilities, 15,000 sqm of exhibition space, meeting halls, media centre, dining and catering. GL events will additionally provide power, air conditioning, AV set-up and furniture across the convention, taking place this December in in Santiago de Chile.

The GL events Group will support the Pan-American Games, taking place in Lima from 6th July to 11th August 2019, providing power equipment and electricity distribution across venues for the event.

In France, it will provide a 17,350 sqm temporary exhibition centre for the Strasburg Métropole, complete with high-specification interior fit-out to include flooring, heating and air-conditioning systems as well as audio-visual equipment.

Two further contract wins will see the group provide large-scale audience seating grandstands. Seating for 1,780 spectators will be installed at Japan’s Kumagaya Stadium in preparation for the World Rugby Cup, taking place in September and October 2019, while a 9,000-capacity grandstand will be installed, along with VIP facilities, at Belgium’s Spa Francorchamps circuit.

The GL events Group has raised its growth target for 2019, forecasting growth in annual sales of 9% in relation to 2018. GL events UK managing director, Scott Jameson, commented: “These new contracts highlight GL events’ global capacity and ambition to offer bespoke solutions for a complete spectrum of events.
