Award-winning journalist and social psychologist confirmed for fireside chat that will explore redefining human interaction in a post-pandemic world

A few weeks ago we announced RECONVENE, our free virtual summit that will bring together event creators around the world to help prepare for the return of in-person events and determine the future of the live experience economy.

Today we’re excited to share the addition of two renowned speakers to the RECONVENE line-up: award-winning journalist Katie Couric will join social psychologist and author Dr. Jennifer Aaaker for a 30-minute fireside chat to close out day one of the summit, on May 20, 2021.

An icon of American culture, Katie Couric was the co-host of ‘Today’ throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, and in 2006, became the first woman to anchor ‘CBS Evening News’ alone. Today she is the driving force behind Katie Couric Media, which creates content that sparks curiosity, elevates conversation, inspires action, and moves the world forward. She will be joined by Dr. Jennifer Aaker, a behavioral scientist, author, and leading expert on how meaning and purpose shape the choices individuals make, how money and time can be used in ways that cultivate long-lasting happiness, and how technologies are redefining human interaction.

RECONVENE attendees will have a front-row seat to their in-depth conversation that will explore the importance of purpose, new ways of bringing people together, and how creators can understand and leverage the power of humor in their work.

“While the pandemic has changed the way we gather, it hasn’t changed our very human need for connection,” said award-winning journalist Katie Couric. “Connecting with our communities and families is what gives us light in the darkest of times, and it’s what gives us purpose. Platforms like Eventbrite have made it possible for our world to gather despite a year of social distancing and I’m looking forward to further discussing the importance of human connection at their upcoming RECONVENE summit.”

RECONVENE will be held virtually from May 20-21, 2021; to view the full program, speaker line-up, and to register for a free ticket, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/reconvene/
