From clients to vendors, event professionals are required to keep up with the latest trends in the industry for numerous reasons including advancing career, promoting their event business as well as events and creating memorable experiences for attendees.

One of the best ways to do that is to expand their overall professional network and make the most out of the event tech tools that now dominate the market. A great platform to accomplish this task, as we have discussed in some of our previous articles is LinkedIn.

One of the most popular professional networking platforms, LinkedIn is preferred by a lot of event professionals from various facets of the industry in order to build their network and keep up with latest news and resources on the events industry.

Delving into the topic of building a professional network through LinkedIn, let’s explore one of LinkedIn’s most popular feature, LinkedIn Groups. LinkedIn groups are communities of people that share similar interests or belong to a particular industry or profession.

However, there’s a catch when it comes to the number of group requests you can send and groups that you can be a part of when you have a free LinkedIn account. LinkedIn only allows up to 10 pending group requests at a time. A member can be a part of not more than 50 LinkedIn groups at a time.
