The Mermaid London Secures £750,000 worth of new business

The Mermaid London has confirmed more than £750,000 worth of new business events following the reopening of the business events sector in England.

Between August and October 2021, The Mermaid London received 11 new enquiries worth a potential £379,000 and confirmed 18 events worth more than £754,000. The confirmed events will bring an anticipated 5,000+ attendees to the capital.

Events include the London Screen Academy, which is expected to welcome 600 guests and conferences for reinsurance agency Guy Carpenter and investment firm Murray Income Trust. The Mermaid London has diversified into new markets, most recently as a film location and is a set for several upcoming TV shows and feature films.

Christmas parties have also proved to be very popular. Following last year’s Christmas lockdown and restrictions on events, The Mermaid London has a seen huge demand in corporate parties, with bookings now overtaking pre-Covid levels.

Alicia Duncan, Venue Director, The Mermaid London said: “We are delighted that the appetite for in-person events has returned, and I am pleased to say that our enquiries are almost back to pre-covid levels. Going into 2022, our business pipeline is incredibly strong and is continuing to grow.”

The Mermaid London is located in Blackfriars in the heart of the City of London. The venue is home to nine meeting and event spaces including The City of London’s only 600-seater auditorium.
