Michael Kloss will share his Disney insights during The Special Event.

Special Events Magazine's Organizational Event Planner-of-the-Year in 2012, Michael brings his passion for event technology, storytelling, experiential design, and Disney-inspired guest relations to each event. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Advancement Events for Emory University. Previously he served as Chief of Staff to the President, University Chief of Protocol, and Executive Director of University Events. Prior to Emory, Michael served as Executive Director of University Events for the University of Southern California. Event awards include the ILEA ESPRIT award for Best Original Entertainment for an original Cirque du Soleil-style gala performance, Georgia Trend Magazine's 40-under-40 award, and the Grand Gold Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education for his events with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Note: I presented a session at TSE 2015 on event technology 101

You can see Kloss this July at The Special + Catersource when he talks all things Disney during his session "Five Days with the Mouse."

In this session, Kloss will apply storytelling, expectation management and immersive environment techniques from the "Happiest Place on Earth" to create meaningful, accessible, and sustainable event experiences. Drawing from shared experiences and observations of Walt Disney World, he'll cover five different critical areas which can be applied to any special event.

This tour of the parks from an event planner's viewpoint will provide a road map for your own observations the next time you set sail with pirates, tour World Showcase, or walk down Main Street U.S.A. So put on a comfortable pair of shoes and enter a world of castles and queue lines that can inspire and inform everyday event planning and industry professionalism.

See you in Miami!
