Interprefy, the leading provider of remote interpretation technology, today announced the availability of its new Interprefy Select desktop app, allowing real-time interpreting to be added to any event held on Zoom, Webex and any other web conferencing, virtual events or streaming platform.

The pandemic has pushed the majority of international events into the virtual realm. And as connecting remotely has become the new norm, event organizers have become enabled to address a wider and more diverse audience, allowing participants to access their events without the need of being physically present. Thus, giving them the opportunity to join the event in a language they’re proficient in. Because virtual events have made access to simultaneous interpreting from conference interpreters more attainable and cost-efficient.

Leading Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) provider Interprefy has recently seen a huge uptake of their services, with companies such as Google, GlaxoSmithKline or Amway turning to the Swiss solutions provider to facilitate a multilingual dialogue during webinars, conferences, live streaming or board room meetings.

Today, Interprefy announced the availability of its new Interprefy Select desktop app, allowing meeting and event organizers to add real-time interpreting to any meeting and event held on Zoom, GoToWebinar, Webex and any other web conferencing, virtual events or live streaming platform.

Participants simply join their meeting or event, open the Interprefy app and select their preferred audio language alongside their event. As soon as the interpreter is speaking, the app will instantly auto-mute the original speaker to stream crystal-clear live interpreting, while the event is ongoing. And when the interpreter stops, the audio will immediately switch back to the original event audio.

“The new normal of connecting remotely offers an unprecedented opportunity for event organizers to attract a wider and more diverse audience. And for meeting organizers to democratize access to the conversation, by offering a truly multilingual experience, where everybody listens and speaks in a language they’re proficient in”, says Annett Polaszewski-Plath, Chief Executive Officer at Interprefy.

“Providing real-time interpreting in a more scalable, flexible and affordable manner has become a crucial part of the new event landscape. Making this technology accessible to event organizers and attendees worldwide on the platforms they know and love was a logical next step in the evolution of RSI”, Oddmund Braaten, Chief Operating Officer, Interprefy, adds.
