The seventh lecture in the University of Westminster’s autumn Event Design Lecture Series takes place on Monday 25th November. The lecture by Marcin Ziemins and Gundega Skudrina of Untamed Dinner from Riga, Latvia is going to be a mouth-watering occasion.

Untamed Dinner is one the most innovative and imaginative off-the-wall caterers in Europe. This small but perfectly formed catering company once served cocktails in flower pots that included blooming flowers. On another occasion Gundega and Marcin created a live banquet using builders’ tools to prepare the dishes in front of diners.

They love to combine gastronomy, theatre, music, art and other fields, to create immersive experiences for selected guests as well as for corporate clients. They have made ice cream out of playing piano, made 400kg of jelly that was poured into tables as content, burned plates in front of audiences and made edible light bulbs. Attendees will get an understanding of how to immerse attendees into gastronomic experiences and what elements are available to create immersion. They will also discuss how to get attendees to participate in gastronomic experiences.

The School of Architecture and Cities is hosting the Event Design Lecture Series on Monday evenings during the autumn term.
