Co-founders honored for Enterprise Technology, innovation in event software

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 3, 2019) – Socio’s founding team earned distinction on the Forbes 30 Under 30 2020 list for building an event management platform that helps SMBs, enterprises, and associations optimize their live events.

The company’s co-founders—Yarkin Sakucoglu, Alihan Ozbayrak, and Joe Watkins—appear together under Enterprise Technology. The category recognizes entrepreneurs “transforming business with machine intelligence.”

In breaking down the numbers, Forbes points out that 65% of its honorees are founders, and 20% are immigrants. CEO Sakucoglu not only falls under each of those categories, but he’s also the youngest entrepreneur on the Enterprise Technology list at 23 years old.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to make the Forbes 30 Under 30,” CEO Sakucoglu said. “Really though, this is more for our team. It’s beyond rewarding to work every day with people driven to build something bigger than themselves.”

Ozbayrak, Socio’s Chief Technology Officer, echoed Sakucoglu’s thoughts. “For me, the most important aspect has always been our team,” he said. “I am honored to represent the whole group that we have here at Socio.”

The founders, who met at Purdue University, have generated significant growth in the event technology and software space in less than two years. That includes:

Socio’s founders were chosen as Enterprise Technology honorees by a panel that included Zoom CEO Eric Yuan, Arista Networks CEO Jayshree Ullal, and Zapier CEO Wade Foster (Forbes 30 Under 30 2017 alum). In total, more than 15,000 nominees were evaluated for 600 spots across 20 industries.
