eCommerce Events 2019: 5 Top Options to Boost Business

Even glancing at them, the numbers associated with the ecommerce industry are truly astounding. eCommerce sales are expected to account for 13.7% of global retail sales this year. Furthermore, the industry is worth just short of $3.5 billion. It can be easy to think of eCommerce as an area that makes it difficult to connect with peers because of how distributed its enthusiasts are by nature of the job. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. As such, we wanted to put together a list of some quality upcoming eCommerce Events happening around the world that are set to connect the beautiful minds in the industry.

1) E-Commerce Marketing World Forum New York

This list begins with one of the later events in the eCommerce calendar, the E-Commerce Marketing World Forum that’s due to take place in December 2019.

eCommerce events world forum disrupt

Hosted by World Forum Disrupt, you can expect an impeccable production from a seasoned team. You may know their brand from previous conferences and events of theirs such as Programmatic New York, Product San Francisco, or Women in Marketing Hong Kong. They’re also well known for WFD TV, a collection of hundreds of hours of talks collected from industry experts across multiple fields that are all free to watch on demand.

When it comes to the eCommerce events they run, and their upcoming New York edition in particular, they promise to bring together as prestigious a set of speakers as you’ll see on that site.

The format of their presentations will be case study focused, meaning attendees can look forward to practical takeaways from the retelling of real stories from those who have faced their industry’s challenges head on.

As well as keynotes, the conference will also showcase panel discussions, networking sessions and workshops. The overall focus is on bringing together the leading minds in eCommerce and marketing, creating passionate discussion.

Date: December 6th, 2019.

Location: New York, USA.

Tickets: Super Early Birds are on sale now for $295 for individuals, and $250.75 for groups of three or more.

2) Elevate 2019

If you’re a seasoned conference-goer, you’ve probably heard of Elevate. You might even be one of the 20,000 guests they’re expecting this year already. The festival is a six-day experience that celebrates and elevates the tech community in Canada and beyond.

This year’s spectacle will feature keynotes from such household names as Michelle Obama, Sophia Amoruso, and Guy Kawasaki.

eCommerce Events Elevate Canada

As part of the proceedings, attendees can look forward to their Facebook eCommerce summit. The summit will take a deep dive into transaction opportunities that exist for those who want to leverage a renewed or brand new Facebook strategy.

Garrick Tiplady, general manager at Facebook will be presenting at Elevate, and his expertise and experience speaks for itself in terms of the value he’ll be adding for attendees. Tiplady has 20+ years experience managing and advertising businesses. As part of that, he’s focused in on corporate development, team building, and retail operations and sales, all valuable aspects for eCommerce enthusiasts to get excited about.

Date: September 20th-26th, 2019

Location: Toronto, Canada.

Tickets: Available now for C$425. Tiered pricing is available for the festival for patrons, investors, students, and members of startups. Details are available here.

3) Glossy Forum: The Age of E-Commerce October 2019

Digiday provide opportunities like this in spades. Specifically, they’ll be sharing expert experiences into personalisation and its effects, synching data to create a 360-degree view of shoppers’ buying history and habits, and marrying physical stores with a complimentary online offering.

Date: October 10th, 2019.

Location: New York, USA.

Tickets: $995 on the Early Rate that’s currently available.

Shopify Meetups

If you’re in eCommerce, or are even acquainted with the concept, the likelihood is that you’ll have heard of Shopify. Something you might not be aware of if you’re not currently using the platform to facilitate online sales is that Shopify hosts meetups in a truly worldwide way. These eCommerce events place huge emphasis on the community and allow those who work day-to-day in eCommerce to come together to share war stories and success stories.

As such, we’ve put together a list of upcoming editions to include in this post:

4) Shopify Meetup Leipzig

First, to Germany. Shopify meetups are targeted towards current Shopify partners, as well as those who are interested in the system and dipping their toes in the world of Shopify.

Co-hosted with YAY! Digital, the event will feature a keynote (speaker TBD), a meet and greet to network with your peers, and a panel discussion (plus drinks and snacks as part of your free ticket). There’ll also be an after-party to remind you that meetups are meant to be informative and entertaining in equal parts.

Date: September 25th, 2019.

Location: Leipzig, Germany.

Tickets: Free!

5) Shopify Meetup Vienna

And finally, next door, to Austria.

Another appealing feature of these meetups is that the organisers personally admit that they try as much as possible to make sure that the event doesn’t fall into being “sales-y”.

In association with A-COMMERCE, this meetup will feature a similar set up to the Leipzig edition, and will additionally feature a presentation by Markus Hössinger from QUQON.

Date: September 5th, 2019.

Location: Vienna, Austria.

Tickets: Also free!

Additional Shopify meetups will be announced here as they’re publicised, in case you want to find one that might be closer to home.
