A new social concept has been introduced to Richmond, welcoming relaxed all-day dining to Richmond Hill. Great food and drink, unpretentious and amazing value, The Gate officially opened its doors on November 2nd and is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner every day.

Set opposite Richmond Park’s iconic gates, the restaurant offers light, seasonal and contemporary dining. With a passion and commitment to flavour, combined with a vibrant bar serving up seriously good cocktails, The Gate creates what can only be described as a real neighbourhood vibe.

The Gate offers beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The glasshouse drenches the room with an abundance of natural daylight, opening up onto the beautifully landscaped garden terrace, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining. The garden feel effortlessly continues inside, where the interior artfully combines vivid colour, plant life and bold patterns. Statement lighting, plush banquettes and more than a touch of a botanical theme create a bar and dining experience that blend seamlessly into each other.

John Pollard, Chef Director, has developed The Gate’s Kitchen concept. The menus serves up a modern brasserie style, with all day dining, seasonally-inspired a la carte dishes, with a particular emphasis on comfort food and modern cooking techniques.

The kitchen team will source fresh, locally grown produce with wild-caught seafood and farm assured meats to make the freshest and most delicious dishes. On the menu you’ll find a great selection of starters and mains (including lobster arancini, house-cured salmon, the Harbour Fish Pie and Confit Duck), alongside plant based options and seriously sensational desserts.

The Gate’s Bar is a great space for locals and guests to come together, relax, work and play, serving coffees and cocktails all day, every day. Perch at the impressive bar with its marble counter top, sumptuous leather panelling, chrome metal work and enjoy a glass of fizz.

As day turns to night the atmosphere shifts and The Gate transforms into a vibrant bar, with live music and DJ’s alongside an inspiring events programme.
