We came across StreetTeam while doing some research for a client who is running a festival next year. And we have to say, we kind of like it. We all know how important “Brand Champions” are and StreetTeam looks to professionalise that arrangement. So #EventTech of the week it is!

What is StreetTeam?

StreetTeam is a peer-to-peer sales and marketing software for live entertainment. StreetTeam enables its customers to turn their most influential fans into ambassadors who promote their events and sell tickets to their friends in return for rewards.

The platform enables event organisers to harness word-of-mouth marketing and reach fans on and offline where traditional and digital advertising alone cannot. With StreetTeam, event owners can build buzz around their event and increase ticket sales while promoting loyalty and advocacy among their fans.

What does it do?

The team at StreetTeam have broken down a fairly simple premise into a very simple process.

Find – Find your most influential fans from your existing networks and beyond and invite them to join your ambassador programme.

Engage – Manage thousands of ambassadors at scale, build relationships, and engage with them year-round to motivate and build ongoing loyalty and retention.

Sell – Empower your ambassadors to sell to their friends in a social context, on and offline, by arming them with content and tools to maximise sales.

Reward – Motivate and reward your ambassadors with tickets, products and experiences related to your brand with a gamified rewards engine.

Who’s behind it?

StreetTeam was founded by brothers Callum and Liam Negus Fancey in 2012. In January 2016 We-Represent, the peer-to-peer sales platform also joined StreetTeam, along with its customers and founders, James Beaumont and James Ponnusamy.

StreetTeam has offices in LA, London and Poland. They have sold more than 150,000 tickets in 14 countries since its formation in 2012. Clients include Bonnaroo, Bestival, Forecastle, Spring Awakening, SW4, Digital Dreams, EDC, Reading, Leeds, Electric Zoo and many more.

Why we like it – StreetTeam #EventTech of the week

This is Social Proofing in action and it is great to see StreetTeam harness one of our three key event technology trends we highlighted back in 2014.

Info on this post. We are happy to highlight this event technology, however we do not endorse its use; that’s for you to decide. We have not been paid to highlight this software we do so simply because we like it and we hope you do too. If you do use the technology, please add your views and reviews.
